Project Summary
An excellent museum featuring the maritime history of Hull, once the nation’s largest whaling port then the nation’s largest fishing port and third largest commercial port. It features many artifacts, models and paintings showing the development of these industries in Hull as well as shipbuilding and inland waterways.
The building housing the museum used to be the offices of the Dock Company and is of great interest itself, especially the Court Room upstairs.
It’s a ‘grown-up’ museum for enthusiasts of maritime history.
